354 Players Take to the Courts for 16th Amed Cup Tennis Tournament

The 16th Amed Cup Tennis Tournament, organised by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, has brought 354 players together on the courts. With matches taking place across four venues, players are competing for the title in four categories. The champions will be decided in the finals on 13 October.

The 16th Amed Cup Tennis Tournament, traditionally organised by the Youth and Sports Services Department of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, has got under way. The tournament aims to encourage young people and adults to take up tennis, promote the growing tennis culture in the city and bring tennis enthusiasts together. It has attracted strong interest from players.

354 players competing

The Amed Cup Tennis Tournament, which attracts large numbers of participants every year, has once again drawn strong interest from tennis enthusiasts. A total of 354 players from different age groups are competing for top places in this year’s tournament.

Four categories

The tournament is being held in four categories: Junior Men, Junior Women, Women and Men. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers and finalists in all categories.

The strong participation in the women’s categories has also been notable. A total of 20 players are competing in the Junior Women category and 108 in the Women category.

Matches played at four venues

Matches are being played under the supervision of referees at four different venues: the 75 Mahabad Indoor Tennis Courts, the 500 Evler Sports Complex, Bağlar Municipality Ersin Tatar Park Tennis Courts and Parkorman Tennis Courts.

Finals on 13 October

The finalists will be determined following the matches as players compete for top places in the tournament. The final matches will be held on 13 October.

Promoting tennis culture

Through the Amed Cup Tennis Tournament, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality aims to bring people of all ages, from children to adults, into greater contact with tennis while helping to promote the city’s growing tennis culture to a wider audience.
