A Cultural Link Between Diyarbakır and Hannover
A delegation from Diyarbakır travelled to Hannover as part of the Cultural Cooperation Project carried out in collaboration with Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, the City of Hannover and Ma Music. The programme aims to develop new forms of cooperation between the two cities in the fields of music education and workshops
Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality continues its work to strengthen cultural ties between Diyarbakır and Hannover through the Cultural Cooperation Project carried out in collaboration with the City of Hannover and Ma Music. As part of the programme held from 8 to 16 September 2026, a delegation from Diyarbakır travelled to Hannover. Preparations and rehearsals are continuing for a joint stage performance to be held between the two cities.
Cooperation between music institutions to be developed
As part of the project, plans are in place to increase the mutual sharing of experience between the Hannover Music School, Aram Tigran City Conservatory and Ma Music in the fields of music education and workshops. The exchange programmes planned to be established between the institutions aim to diversify joint work in the field of music.
The joint stage performance will bring musicians and music institutions from the two cities together and provide an opportunity for them to engage in joint production. The project also aims for the experience gained through the activities carried out as part of the project to contribute to future work.
Sharing experience in culture and the arts
The Diyarbakır delegation, hosted by Hannover Deputy Mayor Monica Plate, also visited the city’s cultural and historic sites during the visit. The meetings focused on developing cultural ties between the two cities, diversifying joint work in the field of music and increasing the mutual sharing of experience.
Plate expressed her satisfaction with the cultural cooperation between Diyarbakır and Hannover and expressed her support for carrying out more joint work between the two cities in the future.
Joint production and lasting cooperation
The Cultural Cooperation Project aims to develop opportunities for mutual learning, sharing experience and joint production between Diyarbakır and Hannover in the fields of culture and the arts, particularly music. The project is intended to lay the foundations for lasting cooperation and contribute to strengthening the cultural ties between the two cities.
