As part of its social municipality initiatives, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality continues to support university students by helping address their accommodation needs throughout their studies. The Women Students’ Residence, run by the Dormitories and Residences Unit under the Department of Social Services, will once again welcome students for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The residence provides accommodation for women students who come to Diyarbakır from other cities to attend university and need a place to stay, helping them continue their studies in a safe and well-organised living environment.

Accommodation for Up to 391 Students

Located in Yenişehir district, the Women Students’ Residence has 136 rooms and a total capacity of 391 beds. It primarily serves women students who have moved to Diyarbakır from other cities for university and require accommodation.

Alongside accommodation, the residence is designed with students’ educational and social needs in mind and will continue to provide them with a place to live throughout the new academic year.

Online Applications Open Until 11 September

Pre-registration for the 2026–2027 academic year opened on 30 August and will close on 11 September. Applications can be submitted online at:

Students can log into the system and complete their pre-registration during this period, allowing those applying from outside Diyarbakır to complete the entire initial application process online.

Final Registration to Be Completed in Person

Once the online pre-registration period has ended, final registration will be completed at the Dormitories and Residences Unit.

Study and Social Facilities for Students

Designed around students’ accommodation and educational needs, the Women Students’ Residence offers more than a place to stay, with a range of facilities where students can study and meet their day-to-day needs.

Facilities include a dining hall, library, computer room, canteen and study room, as well as ironing rooms, laundry facilities, a visitors’ room, kitchen and infirmary. A range of shared social and administrative spaces is also available to make everyday life at the residence more practical and well organised.

The Women Students’ Residence aims to meet the accommodation needs of students coming to Diyarbakır for university, provide them with a safe and well-organised place to live and support them throughout their studies.

Through the residence, the Metropolitan Municipality seeks to help address the accommodation difficulties faced by university students moving to the city and enable them to pursue their studies in more suitable living conditions.
