City Promotion Tours Continue

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has organised tours to Eğil for women attending courses at Women’s Life Centres and students studying in Ergani as part of its “Autumn City Promotion Tours” programme.

As part of the “Autumn City Promotion Tours” programme organised by the Culture and Tourism Unit under the Department of Culture, Arts and Social Affairs, two separate tours to Eğil district were arranged for women attending courses at Women’s Life Centres under the Department of Women’s Policies and students from Bereketli Secondary School in Ergani and Dökmetaş Secondary School in Yenişehir.

During the tour of Eğil, participants visited Eğil Castle, the Tomb of the Prophets and Companions, the sites associated with Prophets Dhul-Kifl and Elyesa, the Hz. Elyesa Mosque, the Assyrian Castle and the Royal Tombs, which are among the district’s important historic and religious sites. Participants were also introduced to the natural beauty along the Tigris River and the district’s cultural, historical, religious and natural heritage.

As part of the other tours, participants visited some of the city’s key historic, cultural and natural sites, including Suriçi, İçkale, the Archaeology Museum, Ulu Cami, Surp Giragos Church, the Dengbêj House, Cemil Pasha City Museum, the Ten-Eyed Bridge and the Hevsel Gardens.

The “Autumn City Promotion Tours” programme will continue until 15 November, offering visits to the city’s cultural, natural, historical and religious sites.
