Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Emin Ay attended a reconciliation gathering organised to end the feud between the Özpınar and Kaya families. Co-Mayor Ay: We will build peace among all peoples and faiths

Speaking at the programme, where messages of peace, unity and solidarity were conveyed, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Emin Ay thanked everyone who had contributed to achieving reconciliation between the families and said:

“We are currently in a process of peace and democratic society. We hope that we will build peace among all peoples and faiths. To achieve this goal, we must first establish our own internal peace and alliance. First of all, we must establish peace and a democratic alliance among ourselves. The way to do this is to reconcile people whenever there is a problem, whether between families or between tribes. Grand alliances are built through smaller alliances. Therefore, this step is very important and very valuable.”

‘Peace is a common value of all humanity’

Stating that they were always ready to fulfil any role, mission or responsibility incumbent upon them as the Metropolitan Municipality, Co-Mayor Ay said: “Peace is a common value of all humanity. All religions and faiths have also enjoined peace upon people. May everyone who has contributed to achieving this peace be blessed. Long may they live.”
