Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality continues its road construction, maintenance and asphalt works across the city as part of its efforts to improve transport conditions and renew the city’s infrastructure network. As part of these efforts, Co-Mayor Serra Bucak inspected the asphalt laying and road improvement works under way on Gürsel Avenue, one of the busiest areas of Bağlar district in terms of both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Co-Mayor Bucak received detailed information from the technical teams on the current condition of the avenue, the amount of asphalt laid and the planned completion schedule, and inspected the works along the route.

During the site inspection, Co-Mayor Bucak reviewed the technical details of the project and emphasised that bringing the city’s transport infrastructure up to safe, modern and high-quality standards is among the Municipality’s key priorities.

Requests from Local Business Owners and Residents

Following the technical inspection on Gürsel Avenue, Co-Mayor Bucak visited shops along the avenue and met with local business owners and residents. She thanked them for their understanding and patience regarding the temporary noise and traffic disruption caused by the asphalt works and listened to their requests and suggestions.

Local business owners and residents said that the poor condition of the avenue over a long period had caused significant difficulties, particularly in terms of transport and day-to-day business activities. They expressed their satisfaction that the long-awaited improvement works had finally begun. Residents also noted that giving the avenue a modern appearance would help boost commercial activity in the area and improve transport conditions, and expressed their satisfaction with the ongoing works.
