Co-Mayor Bucak Meets with Sur Business Owners: ‘We Will Move Forward Together’
Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Serra Bucak visited local business owners at Balıkçılarbaşı Vakıflar Business Centre and listened to their requests and suggestions. Co-Mayor Bucak emphasised that all steps concerning Sur’s commercial life and historic character would be taken in consultation with local business owners.
Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Serra Bucak visited local business owners at Balıkçılarbaşı Vakıflar Business Centre in Sur district. The visit, organised by the Department of Press, Publications and Public Relations, was also attended by Sur Municipality Co-Mayors Fatma Gulan Önkol and Adnan Örhan, municipal council members and the heads of the relevant departments.
Co-Mayor Bucak visited businesses throughout the market area, spoke with residents and listened to the requests and suggestions of local business owners. The issues and suggestions raised during the visit were noted by the relevant municipal units.
Local Business Owners Raise Their Concerns
During the visit, local business owners raised concerns and requests regarding vehicle traffic, parking, infrastructure and the slowdown in commercial activity. All requests and suggestions were recorded by the relevant municipal units for further assessment as part of the fieldwork.
Exchange of Views with Local Business Owners
Noting the important role played by local business owners in preserving the area’s historic character and supporting the city’s economy, Co-Mayor Bucak exchanged views with them on measures to regulate transport and vehicle traffic within the market area.
Co-Mayor Bucak also highlighted the area’s significant tourism potential and emphasised that all steps concerning the commercial life and historic character of Sur district would be taken in consultation with local business owners.
