Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Emin Ay, together with Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan, visited the 10th Diyarbakır Book Fair, which opened its doors to book lovers at the Mesopotamia International Fair and Congress Centre.

Co-Mayor Emin Ay and Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan were accompanied by DEM Party MPs Rüştü Tiryaki, Serhat Eren and Mehmet Kamaç, as well as members of the DBB Municipal Council.

Meeting publishers and writers

During his visit to the fair, Co-Mayor Ay visited the stands of the participating publishers one by one, meeting representatives of publishing houses, writers and readers. Emphasising the importance of cultural events and book fairs in the city, Co-Mayor Ay also highlighted the region’s rich cultural heritage.
