Co-Mayors visit civil society organisations
Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Emin Ay have visited civil society organisations MEBYA-DER, MED-DER, and MED TUHAD-FED to hear representatives' views and demands, delivering a message of solidarity and cooperation for joint initiatives aimed at enriching civic life.
Accompanied by Council Co-Spokesperson Demet Ceylan and members of the municipal council, Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Emin Ay paid visits to the Association for Solidarity, Unity and Culture with Families Who Lost Relatives in the Cradle of Civilisations (MEBYA-DER), the Mesopotamia Language and Culture Research Association (MED-DER), and the Federation of Legal and Solidarity Associations of Families of Prisoners and Convicts (MED TUHAD-FED).
Meeting with NGO representatives, Co-Mayors Bucak and Ay exchanged views on the ongoing work of the respective organisations. The discussions focused on fostering solidarity and collaboration between local government and civil society, as well as developing joint projects to enhance civic life. The meetings also provided an opportunity to assess the organisations' activities and address their priorities and concerns.
Calls for solidarity and joint action
Throughout the visits, Co-Mayors Bucak and Ay underscored the critical importance of collaboration between local authorities and non-governmental organisations. Emphasising a commitment to collective action, they reaffirmed the municipality's dedication to working together on initiatives that directly contribute to the city’s social fabric.
