DBB Provides Free Wi-Fi at 7 Locations

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality continues to provide free internet access at seven locations across the city. The Wi-Fi service, available in parks, squares, historic sites and the bus terminal, aims to make internet access easier for residents and tourists visiting the city.

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has expanded its free internet service, launched as part of the “Smart Cities Action Plan”. The free Wi-Fi network, initially established at three busy locations across the city by the Department of Information Technology, has now been extended to seven locations with the addition of new areas.

The initiative aims to expand internet access and reduce barriers faced by residents when accessing digital services. Tourists visiting Diyarbakır can also benefit from the free connection service.

Free Wi-Fi network expanded

Free internet service, previously available at Dağkapı Square, the Hz. Süleyman Complex and Diyarbakır Intercity Bus Terminal (DİŞTİ), has now been extended to include Kent Ormanı and Tema Park in Kayapınar district, Ulu Cami in Sur district and Sümerpark in Yenişehir district.

Free Wi-Fi is now available at Kent Ormanı, Dağkapı Square, Ulu Cami, Tema Park, Sümerpark, the Bus Terminal (DİŞTİ) and İç Kale (Hz. Süleyman). Residents can connect to the internet in designated access areas using computers or smartphones.

Internet access from parks to historic sites

The free Wi-Fi points cover not only parks used by residents for recreation and leisure but also the city’s historic and tourist sites. Residents and visitors can use the service at Dağkapı Square, Ulu Cami and İç Kale, while the free connection at DİŞTİ makes internet access easier for passengers using the terminal.

The initiative aims to expand internet access in public spaces and provide free connectivity for residents using these areas for different purposes.

Connection available after identity verification

Residents wishing to use the service must connect to the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality network through their device’s Wi-Fi settings. After connecting, they can complete the identity verification process on the redirect page that appears and begin using the free internet service.
