Free Workshops for Children to Begin
Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality is launching free workshops in five different fields to support the social, artistic and cognitive development of children aged 9 to 14. Applications for the workshops, which will begin on 12 October, can be made online until 7 October.
The Children’s Services Unit under the Department of Social Services is launching a new series of workshops designed to help children discover their talents and develop themselves in different fields.
Led by specialist instructors, the workshops aim to support children’s social, artistic and cognitive development.
Training in five different fields
The workshop programme includes five different fields, providing children with opportunities to develop their interests and abilities.
The Art Workshop aims to help children express their imagination through colour and drawing while developing their visual arts skills.
The Drama Workshop will feature creative drama activities designed to support children’s communication, self-confidence and empathy skills.
The Ecology-Based Art and P4C (Philosophy for Children) Workshop will combine environmental awareness with art and contribute to children’s critical, creative and inquisitive thinking skills.
The Piano Workshop will provide children with basic music training, with activities aimed at developing their sense of rhythm, auditory perception and instrument coordination.
The Robotics and Coding Workshop will contribute to the development of children’s algorithmic thinking, problem-solving and digital production skills.
Free workshops for children aged 9 to 14 can be applied for through the online application form until 7 October. Following the application process, the workshops will begin on Monday, 12 October.
Workshops to be held in two weekday sessions
The free workshops will be held at Sümerpark Common Living Area on weekdays in two sessions, morning and afternoon, with limited places available.
Sessions will run from 08:30 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 16:30. The workshops will continue throughout the academic year.
