Road Travel

There are two bus terminals in Diyarbakir, the Muncipal Intercity Bus Terminal (DİŞTİ), and the Regional Bus Terminal (İlçe Otogarı). DİŞTİ is 10 km from the city center, and from here it’s possible to find buses to nearly every point in Turkey. For travel to all points in the province of Diyarbakır and to nearby provinces such as Mardin, Elazığ, or Batman, travelers should use the İlçe Otogarı, located some 4 km from the city center in the neighborhood of Şehitlik, just off the road linking Diyarbakir and Mardin.

Diyarbakir’s Airport, a mixed civilian and military airport, is 6 km from the city center.  Municipal buses departing before and after every flight make transport easy.  Passengers to the airport can pick up the regular airport bus from the main bus stops in Ofis and

Dağkapı. Because of a lack of customs services, there are no direct international flights to or from Diyarbakir.
