The Department of Rural Services continues its efforts to revitalize agricultural production and animal husbandry. The teams of the Department are producing projects to use water efficiently and to bring water to thirsty lands across the city. A protocol was signed between the Metropolitan Municipality and the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) Regional Development Administration to increase and revitalize agricultural productivity.

Within the scope of Kocaköy, Dicle and Ergani Irrigation Project (From Source to Efficiency Part 2), 7 thousand 200 meters of open canal, 70 meters of wall and 25 meters of dike were constructed in Arkbaşı Neighborhood of Kocaköy district, and 3 thousand 250 meters of open canal and 20 meters of dike were constructed in Tepecik Neighborhood. While one thousand 700 meters of closed pipe was laid in Altay Neighborhood of Dicle District; 3 thousand 300 meters of closed pipe was laid in Devletkuşu Neighborhood of Ergani District and 1 pool was built. In Kavurmaküpü Quarter, 980 meters of open canal was laid and 10 meters of irrigation tunnel was built. In Çayköy Neighborhood, 4,300 meters of closed pipes were laid, while a 20-meter irrigation tunnel and a pool were built.
