Smart Cards (DİYARKART) Used with the Electronic Fare Collection System and Fare Types

Following the introduction of the Electronic Fare Collection System in July 2008, smart cards known as DİYARKART began to be used on public transport operated by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and on all Private Public Buses.

FULL-FARE DİYARKART

Passengers requiring a full-fare travel card can purchase and top up their FULL-FARE DİYARKART at authorised outlets at 122 locations across the city. The FULL-FARE DİYARKART costs 90 TL.

Alternatively, cards can be purchased and topped up at kiosk machines located at 28 locations across the city. The DİYARKART costs 100 TL.

DISCOUNTED CARD

Passengers who meet the eligibility requirements can obtain a DISCOUNTED CARD for 90 TL. The fare for travel with a discounted card is 14.00 TL for students and 21.00 TL for other discounted passengers.

DİYARKART – STUDENT
(Primary, secondary and university students)

a) Individual applications

Required Documents:

• 1 passport-sized photograph.

• A photocopy of the identity card.

• For primary and secondary school students enrolled in formal education, as well as students enrolled in open education and high schools, their Turkish Republic Identity Number will be verified against data obtained electronically under the protocol signed with the Ministry of National Education. Where verification cannot be carried out, a student certificate issued within the last month and stating the duration of study must be submitted.

• For students enrolled in distance and open education programmes, a document showing that they have no Social Security Institution (SGK) registration.

• For university and higher education students, a student certificate issued within the last six months for the relevant academic term.

• Students aged 21 or under enrolled at Vocational Training Centres, Maturation Institutes and remedial programmes must apply with a student certificate issued within the previous month.

• Students who have completed 13 terms in Open Education High Schools and Open Primary Schools, students enrolled in two-year programmes at Anadolu University who have exceeded four years of study, students enrolled in four-year programmes who have exceeded seven years of study, and students who have deferred their studies are not eligible for the discounted fare.

DİYARKART – TEACHER

a) Individual applications

Required Documents:

• A certificate of employment issued by the institution where the applicant works.

• A photocopy of the identity card.

• Teachers employed in state schools under Law No. 657 as part of formal education, teachers working as paid teachers and master instructors, teachers working as teachers or academic staff at the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), teachers employed in private schools providing formal education under the Ministry of National Education, teachers working at Public Education Centres, and Qur’an course instructors employed by the Presidency of Religious Affairs.

• For teachers, master instructors and teachers working at rehabilitation centres under Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, a document issued within the last month.

• A photocopy of an identity card showing the Turkish Republic Identity Number.

• 1 passport-sized photograph.

• DİYARKART fee: 90 TL

DİYARKART – AGE 60

• An approved document issued by the Social Security Institution confirming retirement status, or a barcoded document showing pension details.

• A photocopy of an identity card showing the Turkish Republic Identity Number.

DİYARKART – AGE 65 AND OVER

FREE-TRAVEL DİYARKART

a) Individual applications

Passengers entitled to free public transport who wish to use the FREE-TRAVEL DİYARKART fare can apply to the DİYARKART Application and Distribution Centre operated by the Bus Operations Unit of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, provided they meet the requirements below and submit the required documents.

The card issuance fee for a FREE-TRAVEL DİYARKART is 90 TL.

DİYARKART – MUNICIPAL ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

a) Individual applications

Required Documents:

• An official letter from the relevant municipality confirming that the applicant holds a position as a municipal enforcement officer.

• A photocopy of an identity card showing the Turkish Republic Identity Number.

• A photocopy of the municipal enforcement officer ID card.

• 1 passport-sized photograph.

• DİYARKART fee: 90 TL

DİYARKART – PRESS CARD HOLDERS

a) Individual applications

Required Documents:

• A photocopy of the Turquoise Press Card issued by the Directorate of Communications of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye.

• A photocopy of an identity card showing the Turkish Republic Identity Number.

• 1 passport-sized photograph.

DİYARKART – PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

a) Individual applications

Required Documents:

• A medical board report confirming a disability of at least 40%, or a photocopy of a Disability Identity Card issued by the Ministry of Family and Social Services.

• A photocopy of an identity card showing the Turkish Republic Identity Number.

• 1 passport-sized photograph.

• DİYARKART fee: 90 TL

• Renewal fee: 25 TL

DİYARKART – POLICE, PUBLIC SECURITY AND GENDARMERIE PERSONNEL

a) Individual applications

Required Documents:

• An approved certificate of employment issued by the applicant’s institution.

• A photocopy of the identity card.

• 1 passport-sized photograph.

• Gendarmerie personnel must also submit 1 official passport-sized photograph.

DİYARKART – VETERANS AND RELATIVES OF MARTYRS

a) Individual applications

Required Documents:

• A photocopy of the Free Travel Card issued by the Ministry of Family and Social Services (for the cardholder, spouse, mother, father and children under 25).

• A photocopy of the identity card.

• 1 passport-sized photograph.

DİYARKART – NATIONAL ATHLETES

a) Individual applications

Required Documents:

This card is available to holders of cards issued in their name by the Ministry of Family and Social Services under Law No. 5774, dated 28 June 2008, bearing the words “FREE TRAVEL CARD”, including:

• Persons receiving a monthly payment under Law No. 5774 on Granting Monthly Payments to Successful Athletes and Conferring the Title of State Athlete.

• A photocopy of the identity card.

• 1 passport-sized photograph.

• DİYARKART fee: 90 TL

• Renewal fee: 25 TL

They are not valid on district services.
